Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hi Everyone,
There've been a number of discussion posts in the Depression Community recently, particularly about religion, that have generated a fair amount of heat between members. We've received a number of complaints, and are removing comments and in some cases threads that aren't focused on supporting each other.
As we've all experienced, there are some topics that members are really passionate about. Feelings get hurt, and people lash out. We want all members to feel like they can express what's important to them. But at the same time we have to remember that what makes DailyStrength work is that people from all over the world are gathering together in our Communities for support.
Here we have a chance to give and receive some much needed help and perspective on the challenges we're each facing in our lives. There are so many of us here now that we have a tremendous opportunity to find at least a little of what we're looking for. But it also means that from time to time we're going to run into discussions and comments that we simply don't agree with. When that happens, and you don't feel that you can respond in a supportive way, please take a second, take a breath, and move on. Just don't post a comment on that topic. There are many, many other topics to choose from.
And as always, if you feel a topic or comment or other post is abusive, please let us know, and we'll look into it right away.

Judging this whole community based on Doug removing the post is wrong. Doug took down all of the post and not just some of them. If he was on our side wouldn't he of left ours up???? just a thought.

Everyone seems to be so up for a fight based on virtually anything that maybe Doug should create a "Fight Club" website instead...
I was even gonna try and discuss with T
Now with that said, alot of people do just try to get peoples dander up. Shouldn't do that. Don't like that. But you know, seen some of these same people get into arguements with each other while talking to somebody who is contemplating suicide. Same thread, usualy over who knows more about what they do.
Would preciate the swearing to chill a little though.
Guess .. from time to time .. we can let our emotions get the best of us ..

I think it is about time to shut down the Thread: Snork and her Friends.
It has become a place to rant and vent and has become rather abusive. A lot of direct hostility and anger.
I take great offense at the context of the blatant bashing posts by a handful of members. They will not just let things go and move on. They are fueling this mini drama.
