Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
As I went to counselling I began to see how I let the people around me run the relationships to take advantage of me, its all give on my part and all take on theirs. When I'm in need they're no where to be found.
It's also because of the insane amounts of pressure I put on myself to succeed.
Just need to take a step back and see what's really important sometimes.
It doesn't need to be a big obvious event or crisis, it can just be the small things that build up and build up and then you crack I guess.
Have you and your therapist looked at things on that basic level? relationship structures? goals? small traumas in the past that could have added up?
Possibly a biased source of info .. so do further research.

But that doesn't mean that you can't do anything about it--your brain actually re-wires itself if you undergo therapy! A combination of psychoactive medication and cognitive behavior therapy has been shown to actually change the way that your nerve cells work together to affect your thinking and your mood. In neurophysiology, this is called long-term potentiation; it is often described in layman's terms as such: the neurons that fire together, wire together!
I don't know about you, but that really gives me hope. It's nearly impossible to train yourself to get rid of destructive thinking at first, but it makes a real, physiological difference as you do it!
