Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I’m indescribably depressed today. I don’t know why today is worse. I’ve been on new medication for two weeks now.
I have ptsd and am working on boundaries/understanding codependency/marriage/family and many more things. That’s a lot. Per counselor, I am supposed to be working on giving myself a break so I wrote some positive things down today.
I can succeed step by step. I have choices now. I can recover. I can decide what’s right for the situation. I can show emotion, ask and set limits.
I’m out and about working today, have about another hour to myself and I am holding back tears, sitting alone in my car feeling completely overwhelmed. I hate wondering what’s wrong with me, that I could be this sad with so many good things going on. I know I have a lot of stressful, scary things happening but I’m also a Mom. I have made some incredible friends this last year. I have a supportive church and my husband is actually trying to work on our marriage as well. I can see that. I feel ungrateful because I feel so awful.
Does that make any sense?
