Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

So, I deal with mental illness on top of having an incredibly stressful job. We have a man at work who just treats people like crap, especially women. One just quit because of him. This guy who is much older than me had a sexual fixation on me and said some really inappropriate things to me. He used to even call me at home. It was so messed up.
He's been talked to by my boss and then later by HR. I ended up writing a two page document detailing everything that he had said and done, comments, flirtations, following me around the office. They had a sitdown with him and told him in no uncertain terms to leave me alone. He was for about the past two months. I am a schoolteacher and will be finishing out the schoolyear and not returning. I'm in my notice period-I put in my notice. My goal has been to just do my job and stay out of the crap, not get myself fired and not get into a screaming match with him because I hate him, hate him for how he's treated me. I know that's wrong but it's how I feel. I want to get past that.
I also really don't like our new boss/principal. She is explosive and unpredictable, and I dare say it, not qualified. A really good staff member quit because of her. She goes on tirades and makes scenes, and I frankly am not sure what she actually does. She gets really frustrated with this man and then comes back and vents endlessly to me about it, which is totally unacceptable. She can't manage him.
So today, he started up again. He was standing outside my classroom and just lurking there, just staring into my classroom, more or less staking me out, like he used to do. I could tell he was vying to come in and have an excuse to make contact-EXACTLY what he was told not to do!!! So he does, he steps in the doorway, and asks this contrived question: should this student who is scheduled to be in his class for Math stay in mine, or go to his scheduled class? Obvious answer. It's been said time and time again that STUDENTS ARE TO ATTEND THEIR SCHEDULED CLASSES. It seemed like a disengenuous ploy to make contact with me. I deal with mental illness and anger is hard for me, and I could feel myself ready to rage, like I had to work really hard not to. The students could tell something was off. I bluntly and rudely told him well what's on the schedule? Huh? Like what do you think?!?
The security guard came by, and I know the students overheard me, but I told the guard that he was not supposed to be in my room AT ALL. I just thought he should know. During ACT testing, even after being told to leave me alone, he was lurking outside the testing door, peering in at me. I just couldn't f**** understand for the life of me what the hell he was doing. Our old security guard screamed at him and told him to get out of the door. I really thought they were going to physically pull him out of the way.
My crazy boss came in afterward to rage about how she can't handle him and that she was going to write him up and how he was being defiant to her and saying that she is destroying his reputation and that he "owns many mansions." Apparently he lives in an apartment for $700.00 a month and is still working at almost the age of 70. Something is way off.
I had told myself I wasn't going to take any days off through my notice period. I have this fear that they will just cut my notice period short and then I will have no paycheck, but I really, really need a day off. On Fridays (tomorrow) during our "professional development" lunch, it is the day that my boss takes the opportunity to scream bloody murder for half an hour in her tirade. She has a tendency to target me in these meetings if she can't get a reaction. When I won't give her a reaction she calls me into her office to grill me further. I think I will be calling off tomorrow. I have a feeling it's going to be bad. Today, she came in while I was working hard with a student. She started playing a guitar and making a scene, saying, "Hey Ms. are you going to call the mental hospital on me and get me committed?" Right in front of the class. Earlier that day she spent an hour dumping her problems on me and telling me that she didnt' want to be a principal anymore or be in education, like I really need to know this. She started asking me all of these questions about where I am going to college next, my major, and how she wanted to get into tech just like I am, so she can make six figures and work from home like me. I started to feel like I had some lunatic on my heels, like a single white female. I just couldn't believe it, like you are going to drop your career and start to follow me and what I am doing and my college major-you are out of your mind. I highly doubt they would admit her or let her in, and frankly it started to scare me.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
