Today's been rough all around, but it got worse when my 3 year old woke up crying telling me her legs hurt. I feel so bad for her and there's nothing I can do to help it. She'll fall asleep for a few minutes and then wake back up. Her doctor told me it's just growing pains. She's crying so bad and there's nothing that helps. It's making me feel worse, because she looks to me to keep her safe and pain free, and there's nothing I can do about this particular situation.

Sorry today has been so rough...as for your 3 year old, maybe you could just rub her legs and see if it help? Just a thought....

I tried that and it got her to sleep once, but after that it didn't help.

that stinks. what did she say hurt about her legs? growing pains? i don't know about that, that's weird. how's she doin today hun?

maybe her muscles are sore and she's coming down w/ flu or somethign. hope not.

Maybe you can try giving her a warm bath with some bath salts to soothe the pain... or massage her legs while she is falling asleep?

A warm bath might help with the muscle, and massage them again.

My little girl used to get them all the time - I would massage her legs for her - and put a warm water bottle on her legs so she felt cosy. it worked every time.

I used to get these really horrific leg cramps, too, especially at night if I had been walking a lot all day. I was also told that they were growing pains, and I grew out of them eventually. We had one of those vibrators (no jokes, please) that you wear on your hand, and that always gave temporary relief. Don't know if that helps . . .

friend - i totally didn't even think of that but yea those things work really well actually... i use one on my back all the time.. and on of my friends who gets godawful menstrual cramps uses one on her lower abdomen (no jokes plz)

Oooh, my daughter used to wake up at night with her legs hurting too....

...so much she would cry, it makes you feel terrible, but at least the pain stops fairly quickly...sometimes some rubbing of the muscles helps---if they let you touch them!

It just happens during growth spurts... she is otherwise fine, yes?
