Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I can't deal with reality. I've never been able to. I've just realized this and it scares me. Dealing with depression and ocd is bad enough, but my world is so twisted. I never know what is real and what not. Lately I've been going 'off line', doing things and then later I can't remember doing them. I'm hiding this from my family, but I need some way, something to hold on to before I disappear completely.

Firstly, I don't trust doctors. Secondly, they are so easy to fool. I've always been very good at reading people, so I just tell them what they want to hear and then they leave me alone. Most of the time I'm fine, I just lose it sometimes. There are many things about my depression that I'm only realizing as I get older. I have, however, been contemplating going to a doctor. I have a son now, so I guess I'll have to think about it.

All I can say is I wouldn't be trying to talk myself out of it if you feel like you're getting to an unsafe spot with yourself.

With all due respect, why go to a doctor if you're just going to fool him into thinking everything is ok? I can understand trying to help yourself on your own, but what you describe makes it appear to be extremely difficult to do that. IMHO, I think a doctor would be beneficial for you. You can always switch them until you find someone you think is on the same page as you are. Good luck to you.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
