Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Sadly, no.
Like how much they like peppers and if they eat Reuben Sandwiches or not.
jk
But it lets me get to know people. Then, if race or other possibly 'divisive' things come out I will be amazed at just how little it actually had to do with things!
i've never been in your shoes as a minority, but i bet it feels strange. do you think people are curious about you, you're white and talk to yourself, and the not smiling part may be intimidating to some, maybe they think that you're going totlash out since you're talking to yourself.
well, i'm happy to meet you and sorry that people are being rude. f them. and welcome here.
It probably freaks them out that I talk to myself. I wish I could stop it. Sometimes I don't do it, but sometimes I catch myself doing it. You know? Paranoid schizophrenia sucks because you don't know what's there or not. Like, I used to think the drug dealer on the corner could be in my head, but my brother told me today that he wishes the cops would just arrest that dude, so now I know he's really there and I'm not imagining it.
You know, our thinking (depression) doesn't help. Even someone's thinking you're cute; it gets translated to the depressed mind as something negative.
Mental illness is another stigma. So is socioeconomic level, and sexual orientation. And I get the hates and the stares and the judgmental remarks too, for being plus-size.
My daughter sums it up in three words: People are assholes.
Do you like writing? poetry? I haven't written anything in a long while., but I like poetry and I see it in your writing, I liked the way you wrote about your life. You painted a bleak vivid picture. It sounds a rough place where you live but it seems you are creative in the midst of it all.
Perhaps we will read some more from you. I like your style.
I love John Lennon's Imagine, I tear up when I hear that song.
