Ive been on Wellbutrin now for a year, 2 months ago they added a new med to the mix.
since that new med, I have felt so much better. Dont know if its the med or that I have finally gotten past the depression from my breakup. I decided that of the 2 meds, it seems the 2nd is the one that finally seemed to help so I decided to quit cold turnkey on Wellbutrin.
I did call my doctor for advise before doing it, and she said that if I can go 1 week without it and not have severe side affects then Im good to go. Its been 3 days now and so far so good. The one thing that I HAVE noticed is that the fast heartrate in mid afternoon has seemed to stop and the really shaky hands seems to have lessen a bit so thats great.
I was wondering for any of you that have stopped, can you tell me what kind of side effects you had? I'd like to be on the look out for them.
thanks!

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

The new med they gave me was 75mg of Effexor. After a couple weeks i really started feeling happier. My dr said it is a med that releeases more seratonin (sp??). Been pretty pleased with it. I will see how it goes just by itself for a month or so then plan on slowly getting of it as well.
Quitting cold turkey on anything can kick your butt. Even when you do the step down method, it can get tough.
Its so odd how meds can affect people completely different. When I was on lexapro a few years back for anxiety. I became mean. I actually hit my husband once. He right away thought it was the med and i spoke to my dr and got something else. never that way again. I'll be happy to be off them completely.
