Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
You also asked what helped the most? A combo of Effexor, Seroquel and Klonopin.
I think docs do the old school mechanic thing sometimes. Do this, and if it's not working, do that.
I've had so many medicine changes, I almost wanted to tell her to take my brain out, look at it, identify the problem, put it back in....THEN prescribe.
Hugs, Darlin!!
I am now on Welbutrin, (sp) but a very small dose. I find I am much better and stable. The Welbutrin has no side effects for me.
I also see a psychiatrist once a week, and for me, that has been the most beneficial, hands down. Talk therapy, combined with an anti depresant. (sp)
Talk to your doctor, as you should not be in such a dark hole as you put it. Let's get you into the light. :)
I don't know about now, but when I started taking Wellbutrin 3 years ago I was in a deeep black hole and it noticeably reduced my misery almost immediately .
Lexapro has noticeably reduced my anxiety and is supposed to help with depression too. It did wonders for my boyfriends anxiety and occasional depression.
I really liked xanax, but have yet to be prescribed it in a long time. It's supposed to be very addictive but I've never taken anything else that helped with anxiety attacks like that.
for you that suffer only situational depression, thank your lucky stars.... although I feel for you also... peace to everyone..
I too am familair with that darn hole!
I am on celexa. I take mine in the morning.
40 mg. It really helps. I credit Celexa for giving me the footholds to get out of my own hole.
I am with Bridget on the pdoc advice. Mine is an invaulable tool for me.
I wish you well. Many many hugs.
Oh..btw..Repo says "HI" back :)
Maybe a good old fashioned fucktard bus party would help you feel better. Repo will be here in 8 days. Give him a couple days to set his computer up and I bet I can get him to come back for you and a party. Meep Meep!
Let's keep in touch.
Love you!

So much more needs to be done and figured out when it comes to mental health. I keep hoping the future is better for those of us who suffer this way!
When I knew I was going to loose my health insurance, I made a conscious decision to wean off all meds. It took six months to accomplish this but I did it. I have been off meds for 1 1/2 years. With the exception of poor sleep, I find that I am much better off. I still have bad days, at times, but I am so much more productive and positive than I ever have been.
I hope that things will look up for you. Supportive hugs to you.
of course, i made my decision and stopped 5 meds cold turkey.
not cool.
hell, actually, but the side effects from the pills were always way worse than the diseases i have.
i am sorry that this is happening. it must be so frustrating to you when these things stop working. i hope you find the right med/combo soon.
i suspect a combo might be the next route to take.

BIG HUGS
Good luck with the med game. It sucks indeed!!! I hope you are able to climb out of that black hole soon. Just know that you are not alone and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask. You give so much of yourself, its time for me at least to give back.
