I've been taking Zoloft for almost five years, so I think I can answer this question for you. I started at 50mg, went to 75mg when I got pregnant, 50mg about three years later when I was ready to taper off and try to be med free, starting having panic attacks (unrelated to the med change. I was having extreme stressors) and went back up to 100mg for a year, now I'm on 125mg. Don't get me wrong, I think Zoloft is a great medication, but it's probably time for me to switch to another

1 100mg per day Sertraline (Zoloft)
1 30mg per day Mirtazapine (Remeron)

both at bed time .. and they work great for me. Been on 'em about 4 years at least.

I take 100 mg of Zoloft every morning, doxepin and Zyprexa in the evening. This seems to be the best combination of meds for me. Everyone is different, though, so your dose may be different.

I took zoloft for 6 years. Depending on the stressors in my life I was on anywhere from 100mg to 200mg a day. At the end my psy even tried 250mg before switching me to celexa. Zoloft was a good drug, but it did putter out in the end.
