question about meds

I've noticed that ever since I started taking effexor that I can't feel sad any more. I mean the drug is great...it lifted my depression. I've actually been completely depression free since I started it but I still need to feel sad sometimes and I can't. Has anyone else experienced this?

WOW...no I haven't ever taken that but I might ask my pdoc for it tomorrow!!!! It sounds great! Sorry I couldn't help!

are u saying you just feel numb or empty? i am taking cybalta and it kinda makes me like that. my dr told me that cymbalta and effexor were in the same catagory very similiar drugs

its not that I feel numb. I can feel other emotions: happy, angry, frustrated etc. I just can't feel sad. When ever I feel like I should be sad there is just nothing there.

former mental health worker R.n. advice= sometimes this happens with efflexor but as time goes on when the efflexor is in your system for a longer period of time your body i will say will adjust/level off you will be able to experience more the normal kind of sadness so enjoy while it lasts be happy

I have experienced this with some meds in the past. Hon, you can experience sad without crying and losing control and being down and out as you probably used to get. be thankful you found a med that helps you like this.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
