Its not normally RX'd for Unipolar Depression....it's a Mood Stabilizer...

I took it in addition to my antidepressant for many years as an adjunct in the treatment of my Major Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, etc....I found it very helpful at the time but have since moved on to a more effective medication. It's scary to start a new medication, but if your Doctor thinks it could be beneficial to you it may be worth trying.
