I feel slightly guilty but I have a group of friends that have been a little toxic.  I feel like I'm inundated in the group chat, which is frequently political.  I ended up blocking everyone's number just to get a break.  I just don't need to be reminded to vote, I hate it, it feels like I'm being told what to do.

The last major election cycle it was the same.  I felt so pressured, people at my door, the incessant calls.  The implication is that my friends want me to vote for who they would like me to vote for.  We are mostly on the same page, but the underlying implication is still there.  I can bet if they didn't like who I was voting for they wouldn't be encouraging me to vote...just saying.  I felt this massive sense of relief after the numbers were blocked.  Not a great sign when you feel huge relief from not hearing from someone. 

I don't want to be a part of the political conversation anymore.
