Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Does anyone else ever feel like they are projecting? Sometimes I am not sure if that is what I am doing. I get very frustrated with some friends and feel like they are clinging on to me. Maybe they are, I don't know. I judge them really harshly in my mind for not wanting to go out with me and meet people to date; they want to stay home and man-hate. In my opinion, they call and text a lot.
Anyway, the point being, why does it bother me so much? In part, because I feel judged by them, and we can only take part in plans that suit them-if it's something I want to go and do or am interested in, they will refuse. There is a movie that I want to see, but because it's not the genre that they like, I'll be shot down. But when they want to do something, it's expected I'll comply.
I had to ask myself why I was so often triggered by their communications and contacts. Is it because I'm not happy with my own romantic life and so I am projecting my dissatisfaction onto them? Some of them frequently compain of getting old and then lump us in one category-that we are old. Does it bother me because I feel like I'm old or fear this?
Just something to think about. I've been reflecting lately as I go through therapy and try to figure own my own reactions to things, when it's about me, when I'm projecting, and when I'm not.

How do you feel after sharing your thoughts and feelings on dailystrength.org, and the reason I ask is that I find it beneficial to project transparency with realistic expectations for the desired outcome from the author.
Sharing on dailystrength.org is like a doorway to a better life and a refreshing outlook in life when one becomes open to comments and new suggestions. Even share and compare notes.
It seems to me, as I skimmed through your words, you may have outgrown your friends and or circle of ambiance. I know it can be hard to find like-minded peers and friends at one age, but it's good for you to know your own self-worth and the life long expectations that you want for yourself.
Shine on!
