She has just found out that her 13 year old grandsons right side of his heart is not working and severely damaged as well that side of his chest has caved in enough to fit a fist in it. They are awaiting a doctor. They have to repair his heart and rebuild his rib cage. At this point she doesnt know any other details or how this has happened.

I'm so sorry about Immarcie's grandson and I am praying that the surgeons will be able to repair his heart and rebuild his ribcage and he will have a complete and full recovery. I will also send immarcie a message. I know this must be a very scary time for the family. My prayers are with them all.

I feel so scared for her and her family. She is a good friend to me. We talk almost weekly on the phone to get updates on each other since we suffer so much of the same aliments.

I know with God all things are possible. I have put my faith in Him that all will work out for the best in spite of our human fear.
We are in a "holding" pattern at least until Mon. from what I understand. Not much testing has been done a this point, so it will be a long road for my grandson. He is on complete bed rest pending seeing the dr. and further evaluation.
All they've been told so far is that surgery will be required and apparently part of that will entail breaking his rib bones to reposition them up and away from the right side of his heart which is now being compressed. It is some type of birth defect but no idea why it never manifested until now.
It's especially hard for his dad, my son, who just had a triple bypass 23 mos. ago and had a fairly good idea of what his son will be going through in terms of pain:(:( His feelings of helplessness can't be put into words:(:(
I will be sure to tell them about everyone's compassion and prayers.
