Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I tried to kill myself twice.
I don't want to say how..............
I thought at the time that I really wanted to die and maybe I did.
But for whatever reason, I lived :-)
Honey, if you are feeling so dark and helpless that you want to end your life, then Sweetheart you need to call for help.
We can stay with you here of course, but please do NOT do anything to harm yourself.
Avoid whatever Triggers you. Turn on some up lifting tunes.
Watch a rerun of a funny show...................
But please don't hurt yourself..............
I consider myself Extremely lucky. I did not die.
But I Hope You NEVER take that chance with YOUR precious life
When I need a reason to live, I go for what ever will work. Short term, long term, what ever.
But Pepper is right...it's all about distraction for me too. Anything that works...a movie, TV show, book, song, walk, calling a friend, doing anything fun and simple and distracting. I suppose it's partly distraction, and partly reminding myself that there is good in the world, and I can still experience it.
Sorry, I dont' think this is very helpful...but it's my experiences with suicidal thoughts, passive or otherwise.
Wishing you peace.
When I think of suicide, I tend to distract myself with activities that allow me to be creative. I start a project where I CREATE something, be it a video, a story, a game, a village in South Africa, whatever I can and want to create. This is REVERSE ENTROPY, going against the very grain that makes me depressed.
Please don't hurt yourself. Distraction, as others have mentioned, is key in helping me prevent suicide attempts.
If you're feeling suicidal, please go to the emergency room and get admitted. There is help out there. Peace to you.
Spend a lot of mornings trying to find a reason to get out of bed. Most times I do it just because. There's something that keeps us going. Hope this doesn't trigger.
