Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am worried that my tolerance for stress has become so low. I really need to get back to full time work asap for my family, but it is so hard for me. I have always worked part time and had control of my schedule so the idea of working full time terrifies me. I had a full time job a few months ago and it sent me into a nervous breakdown. Now I feel very unhappy and "stuck." My husband is unemployed and I feel a lot of pressure since I am the one with a master's degree and he is 60. Most of my friends have husbands who make 80K or more and they are able to work part time and be there for their kids. I envy the heck out of them. I am really hating my situation and worried about having another meltdown and losing another job.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

1. I took a mild antidepressant.
2. I gritted my teeth and just did it. If I was upset I hid in the loos. I had nobody I could talk to, nobody I could trust. I didn't know if I'd fly off the handle or burst into tears. I learned how to hide. I learned how to stick my fingernails into the palm of my hand to stop from crying.
And I eventually managed it. If you go in knowing you have to, that there's no choice, and that nobody must know, you kind of get through it.
so get out there, get that job, work your butt off, dad can look after the kids if they're young enough to need it.
There's a huge difference between things that are negotiable, and things that are not negotiable. I've learned this with my mother, who wants to argue the toss about quality of life, that's just a nice to have. Some people get it, some people don't. Some people get cancer and die. We have to look at the hand we're dealt and see how we can play the cards we've got. :)
When you look at the whole picture of why we are here on this earth to begin with, it really changes your perception. Letting go of past judgments and sending nothing but Love out to your family friends and neighbors, seems to be the key to getting the things you need.
God Bless!
