Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I want you to know that you are NOT in this alone. Everything youre experiencing is relatively normal for someone our age with depression like us. Just know that no matter what your illness tells you to think, you ARE strong, you ARE a beautiful wnd loved person and you have the capacity inside of you to be rverything you wIsh to be. Look up, give yourself a hug and remember that every second you survive is another step forward (the right direction!)

I like the way you are reaching out. I agree talk to the school counselors. They have to take it serious and they can help you talk to your parents. If your dad committed suicide 3 years ago make sure the counselor is aware of this as well. Be honest.
As a parent myself, who has suffered with depression, I tried to pay attention when my daughter was a teenager and struggling with it along with pressures of just being a teen in todays world. It's sometimes easier to just assume all is well with your kid and not deal with it. But you are irreplacable. Your parents will come around, they just need some help hearing your cries for help. Take care of yourself, follow through and let the group know how things are going.
