Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Do you take medication?
If you not on medication, please look into supplements, specifically Magnesium which can help with mood and sleep. Also look for other natural supplements that can increase your serotonin levels (natural happiness chemicals).
You need to challenge yourself to get out and put yourself in the awkward, scary places you fear the most. You have to face whatever it is that's holding you back from getting better. Will this be easy? No! If everything in life were easy, there would be nothing for you to strive for or look forward to. You have to look at the glass half full. Every fear you have is building up and causing you to have anxiety. So you have to get out and realize life is not what you're brain is telling you it is. Life is life. And you can't know what's gonna happen until it happens. I remember stepping out to a family function after a long month of brand new and abrupt anxiety/panic attacks. I was so afraid of going because I didn't want to have an "episode" in the middle of relatives. I was afraid they'd pity me if they saw me "sick" or "mentally ill" for lack of a better term. But I did it. Was it successful? Ehh... But hey, it was productive. Because I trained myself to not let this anxiety and panic stop me from living. I kept on facing fears and doing the anxiety exercises. It was so hard for me but I look back on those days and I'm amazed at how far I've come. I thought I'd have it forever and I thought wrong. You have to accept that you have anxiety and panic disorder and understand that it isn't permanent. You aren't crazy. You're just dealing with life. Everybody will have their moment one day it's a part of humanity. To not bore you any longer, let me just finish this response by saying you will overcome this and you will be free from this pain. I promise you!
