I am so sorry that happened to you! I will tell you what someone told me.....sometimes the only answer is a fresh start. This was said to me because I was treated horribly at a church function at which i volunteered to help on Saturday. And after 20 years I am considering leaving. I wish I had an inkling as to why people are doing this to you.....but no one deserves to be treated other than kindly and fairly when they too are kind and fair. But before you leave....is there someone higher up than that administration that you can talk too? (I attempted to talk to a nun, but she would not listen because she had "nothing to do with it") Huge hugs from me!

The director would be the only person I could go to, but she is bran new and heavily relies on the people who are being so disrespectful to me, so no, there isn't. Nothing is going to change here, I've tried proving myself, I've worked my butt off trying to prove myself and still only get disrespect. So I'm going to have to find a job somewhere else. I am very disappointed, but can certianly understand why the turn-over is so high here, 3 people left at the beggining of this month. and this is a small agency. Low case load, and only 13 miles from my home. I really wanted it to work out here. I'm really tired of people being disrespectful to me. They think because I am kind that it's okay, and I have even confronted them about it, and talked about how I prefer to be treated, and in a nice way, I was not nasty, yet they are still intentionally being disrespectful. I can only think the reason is because I threaten them because I have so much more experience.

Other things, the administrator who is responsbile for the highest amount of disrespect is younger then me, but looks older and is very overweight, and I work out and try to keep in shape, though I am no fashion mode., I am not extremely heavy either, and I try to eat right. I don't know, I'm guessing

It can be hard to know why people disrespect others the way you are being disrespected.

Is there anybody in your office who can give you a hint about why this is happening? Sometimes an independent eye can catch things.

I worked in school district for awhile after too sick to continue my career at fortune 500 companies as computer consultant.

Wound up surrounded by 20somethings and a few older teachers.
I have never been disrepected and talked down to on like that in my life while on ANY job!
My mere competence was threatening to these people and when I reported "mandatory reportable" things to nurses and teachers the teachers and supporting staff started rumors about me and treating me badly. They thought it was all about them! My above average performance and interaction w the special needs children was a threat to them. They preferred standing in circle and catching up their lives with each other, and I was not interested, I was there to do a job.
Sometimes that is all it takes when dealing with lazy self centered people. My guess is that is what you are dealing with. I hate to see u give up, like I finally did. I had major health issues and being around such bs was making them worse.

I wish I had advice for you though. Is there any way to even go above your less experienced admin?
You need someone who cares and is higher up on your side, but rven those people are weak and conform to the majority.

pepperman, there is one person I considered asking, she would tell me, but it would also be something she would use to her advantage in the future with me, she is very power hungry. so I have chose not to ask her about it, office politics are not so good here. you can't trust other workers the way you could at the office I worked in last year. but in that office it was way to much of a case load, and a big county and often you could not trust the supervisors to know what they were doing. here they know what they are doing, but this place is full of nothing but back stabbers, and anyone who is not a back stabber leaves pretty quick. so it's time for me to look elsewhere too.

qusokitty, that is exactly the environment I am in, and sounds exactly what i am experiencing. like I am hated for performing well. I am the only one here whose documentation meets state standards all the time, and whose office is neat and who does not have back up from cases that are closed laying around in my office. I AM THE ONLY ONE like that, and I feel like they are threatened . They are all younger than me.

Everyone deserves to be happy in their career

today's been kind of fun cause if they want to continue being disprespecful I can give them a good damned reason too, and it's all I have done all day, and if they want to pretend I'm a dumbass, well I don't know that I can become that dumbass, but I can sure be an ass.

Been playing Led Zepplin loud as hell for over an hour, now, just waiting for someone to ask me to turn it down, so far nobody got the damned balls, but we'll prob have a meeting a month from today about keeping your music turned down, cause they all a bunch a damned pussies.

i personally think than when someone is disrespectfully or treats someone poorly, there is something lacking in that person. They may see in you, how they want to be, or how they know they should be....and it makes them into a miserable person.

Some jobs are full of asshats. Take your knowledge to a place that will actually listen.

I think you mentioned a small case load. Maybe administration is considering reducing the staff in that office.
