Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

in 1983, I started off and on with my hometown mental health group, on medicare. I stopped in 2006, when my allegedly worthless caseworker didn't help me with a cat back then that was sick, with me having to put it to sleep by myself.
now, I'm going through almost the same thing with the brother of that cat, though my landlord to enough of a rescue with tomorrow for cat to vet for last time.
this morning I called the mental health group to start therapy-----FIFTY MILES AWAY closest group taking medicare now. when same group around 2002 wouldn't take blue cross.
why not blame obamacare, with clich of being sent so far away for a provider.
NO SYMPATHY FOR ME FROM RABID OBAMA FANS.
I'm gonna go sit in my tiny hometown library to try to stay calm, though I just know I'm gonna wind up at e.r., asking for some tranquilizer, eventually----my medicare does cover hospital visits.

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...

U COULD ROUND UP PEOPLE WHO SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION AND TALK FOR FREE SOMEWHERE.
YOU WOULDNT EVEN NEED A THERAPIST THERE.
U COULD LEAD THE GROUP OR TAKE TURNS.
THERE IS NO WRITTEN LAW THAT SAYS A THERAPIST SHOULD ATTEND GROUP DISCUSSIONS OF ANY KIND.
EMOTIONS ANONYMOUS DOES THAT.
THEY MEET ONCE A WEEK AND SHARE THEIR PROBLEMS.
I ATTENDED SEVERAL TIMES.
I FOUND IT HELPFUL.
TRY SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

U NEED INTERESTED PEOPLE WHO WILL ATTEND THE GROUP SESSIONS WITH U.

That said, I think neither side does enough to take care of the poor, disabled, and mentally ill. It's always been tough to find providers that will take medicare in my experience. Several years ago I needed an oral surgeon and there was only one many miles away that would accept it.
It sucks and it's just not right. Everyone should have access to help.
Then we have stingy Corbett who does not want to expand medicare.
It's terrible being mentally ill and poor.
DBSA is free.
If I like DBSA I would like to get trained to facilitate meetings.
...See, one of the biggest problems I have is a feeling of not being of any worth...and that would be one way to fix that, for me, anyway. If that way doesn't work out I want to look for other ways.
I know I need to be needed.
Not being needed is bad, not being involved is bad.
I really don't want to be here most of the time.
As it is I get regular handouts from my mom...the self-contempt I feel comes along with that help for free.
I'm really frightened that I will be forced to get insurance, and that I will get less care for more money. I worry I'll end up dying due to not being able to afford all these meds.
OTOH, I want to die really bad anyway, so being THAT worried about it is really rather dumb. No meds, asthma spirals out of control, I wind up dying when my lungs swell shut......YAY.
I'm using this site as therapy, after coming from the next door library where the librarian gave me a hug! with my hands at my side, cause worried what she'd think.
