My parents created wills for their estate that cut very badly. 90% in effect to my sister in Colorado and the rest to her son, my daughter and me. Net result is that I have lost my sister and do not deal with her at all. Extreme hatred of my parents as well.

The lawyer who drew up the will warned them that such an unequal split would cause me and my sister NEVER to communicate again. They did not listen. Mission done.
Every positive memory of them is now colored and distorted. Bad result too.
My sister could have made it right, but she did not, kept everything. I later learned that neighbors took more stuff out of the estate and sold it at auction. A lovely family cabin in Kent, CT was sold by my mother and so that was lost too.
Burned every relationship and the monetary loss is profound.
When my Dad died he left no will, our family home, his car his everything got left to his new wife.
I had to BUY his car from her to keep it in the family. But I still talk to her. I dont cut her out or hate her.
They're just things. Its just money.
I'm sorry but I understand the hurt and confusion but think this is just petty and selfish, on both you and the part of your sister
i imagine you must have felt terrible at the fact that your parents died...which makes things even worse....mixed emotions - hatred, anger, sadness, grief, and lots of unanswered questions.
