in the last 7days i've been diagnosed w/both firbromyalgia and irritable bowl syndrome. both disorders of exclusion w/no easy fix. this is on top of my treatment resistant depression, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, possible borderline personality disorder (depends on which doc u ask), ect.
in summary, i'm feeling overwhelmed, not understood, uncared for, screwed, and sorry for myself. thanx for letting me vent.

You do have every right to feel sorry for yourself. those are some heavy diagnosis. Cry. Grieve for your former healthy self. But then...start reading up on your diseases. Maybe find some articles on how to live life to the fullest with your illness. Maybe connect with people who share the same things. These illnesses are not going to go away. But there are treatments and therapies that may help you. I'm sorry you are going through this. So many people suffer in this world. You are not alone.

'm curious - what type of doctor diagnosed you with IBS and Fibromyalgia? Years ago I had a long bout with a flu like illness and was "saved" by a smart, alternative practitioner. I think it's pretty normal to feel depressed and anxious because your body isn't well. It's great that you're here and maybe there are some local support groups for you to look for.

a gastroentrenologist diagnosed me w/the irritable bowel yesterday after a colonoscopy and 20+ years of problems and failed solutions and my primary care (an internal medicine) doc diagnosed me w/the fibromyalgia after lots of blood work and a list of previously diagnosed issues as long as my arm that go along w/it (tmj, etc) as well as having pain in enough of the 'pain points'

You have every right to feel how you do right now. I hope that you are able to get more answers now that you know exactly what you are dealing with. Sometimes if we have a name for what we have instead of just a list of symptoms it makes it easier to accept and to get proper treatment. I hope that is the case for you.
