Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

And many misuse these medical terms all the time.
What's hard about that is, when "they" talk to eaxh other, they are on the same playing field so these words all are understood and a surface level rather than the true medical level, so when someone like yourself said "I'm depressed " it has no depth of meaning to them. And the truth is, I don't know if it's possible to get people to understand who have not been there. For me, trying, just causes hard feelings on my part and misunderstanding on theirs.
Nobody has the right to judge any other persons depression. You don't know what that person's going through in their life, you don't know what goes on behind the closed doors of their homes. Do you know how absolutely tiring it gets to log onto this site at times and see the same, "I want to die" subject line on every post, its like every single person just gives up the minute they get down and it's not even worth it to fight for life. But its not my right to judge them, even though I'm trained to deal with them in a medical capacity, it's not my right to tell them whether there "depressed enough, or too much".
Being depressed does not mean being suicidal. Depression is so much bigger and wider and much more difficult than that, it encompasses so much more and so many more levels than just being suicidal. Nobody should judge another's depth of depression.
