Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

So I took this online teaching job because I had to have a job, not because I wanted this job, and it is not working out. It could be because I did not actually want it. It could also be because of the circumstance, it could be both.
I had some welcome lessons prepared, Monday came, I just could not get them to upload, I never have taught in an online forum, it is really weird. I've only taught in person. My boss and the principal are great, the students and the coaches that work on the border near Mexico where the kids are are great, the problem is the academic coach that was assigned to me is not great at all. In my opinion she is not nice at all. I understand from her perspective why she was upset. My first lesson didn't come off all that well, my materials didn't upload and she had to step in for part of the lesson on Monday. Tuesday through Friday was ok, but from then on she has been aggressively after me, messaging me constantly. I drove to her house so we could work on some things, and she was very irate, practically shouting, "no! no! no! don't click on this! don't click on that! why are you doing that! why are you doing this! NO NO NO!!" Just totally flipping out.
Later during the week she demanded during my personal work time that she just sit and stare at me and watch me work on a Zoom call, it was very creepy, she was flipping out during this whole thing too, practically shouting, complaining that the you tube videos were too slow and she liked the playback speed faster, font size on my lesson was too small, she wanted different indents, she didn't like it that you tube instructional videos had ads. We had a staff meeting this week and during it she kept messaging me, saying "turn on your camera" and it was already on. She knows what she is doing and I've seen people like this before. She was saying classes were cancelled on Friday when they weren't, our boss had to correct her, really stupid. She was accusing me of not allowing kids into the zoom meeting when they hadn't even made it into the building or were at their computer. She really is a B.
Since I've seen people like this before, they tend to just escalate and get worse, especially if they are narcissistic, they accuse people of doing things that they don't do. She claims that 'parents are complaining". I was literally on the job like four days at this point. I think she is making some of it up. I don't want to be in this job or profession at all. And I don't care if it's for one year I'm going to take something else as soon as possible. It's too bad because my boss and the students are actually pretty nice. I hope I get paid Friday I don't know why I'm worried about that. I never thought it would be this hard to teach online it's actually pretty hard.

What are your plans for the weekend?!

The only things that I can think of doing is either to go over her head to lodge a complaint but that may not go well when you're new or to just confront it and simply say that you're sounding very angry and it makes it difficult when I'm new and trying to learn what's expected of me
She shouldnt be training anyone with this temperment
Big hug Mars
