Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

You are married to a really nice lady and took advantage of her in just about every way a man can, right down to ruining her financially, being controlling, and repeatedly engaging in emotional cheating even though she asked you to to stop. You stated you didn't stop, simply because you never thought she'd leave you. Since she left you have been freaking out, trying to get her to come back.
Now you report that you have selected your therapist based on her being personally attractive to you. This is clearly an extension of the ongoing problem you have interacting appropriately with women. I believe a few more visits in and you are going to be transferring this obsession with your wife onto this new new therapist that you chose based on her looks.
The bottom line is, you don't respect women and seem to view them as objects. They all seem interchangeable in your mind. It is highly inappropriate for you to begin a therapeutic relationship by lying to the therapist. She's not going to be shocked that you thought she was pretty and that factored into your decision to chose her as your therapist. She'll just be in a better position to understand the nature of your problems if you are honest.
Remember that your therapist is a human being as well as a mental health professional. She does not deserved to be perved on by lying clients. For once do the right thing and just be honest.
You say that "we all" make choices based on appearance.....umm no we don't. When I looked for my Therapist I asked my Psychiatrist for list of people he recommended and then I did what I do with ever Dr. I see, I researched them, did background checks on them, found out where they went to Med School, found out if there were any Complaints with the Medical Board, looked at how good they were at what they did for a living, looked at what type of Therapy they practiced....get the picture. I don't give a damn what they look like, I need to know they can help me with what I need help with.
A relationship between Therapist is based on honesty and truth....you have neither.
You have a problem and at some point you need to be honest with yourself and admit it and get help for it. This is not getting help, this is you just finding some other women to ogle at while you daydream about the things you want to do with her.
A human being can only take so much before they throw in the towel and she threw it and you need to accept that you caught it. The fat lady has been singing like a canary, yet you tend to tune it out. As one of Judge Judy's infamous sayings, "you need to put on your listening ears!"
As for choosing your therapist because she's attractive...wth?? When I choose my docs it has nothing to do with how they look but how can I learn to cope with the craziness in this thing called my life! Over the years I've had both and couldn't care less what they looked like. So with that being said it seems that you don't even need therapy because #1 you're so far in denial about the status of your marriage and #2 you're just going there to drool for 50 minutes which is wasting everyone's time!
Hopefully one day soon, real soon, the light bulb above your head will come on so that you can finally start moving on with your life, that doesn't include your wife...
"but i left out one thing.... attractiveness.... " Qualifications of a therapist have nothing to do with that...
Godspeed nightfire! Godspeed :D
