Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

She is losing her short term memory, yet remembers in detail what went on decades before.
I would suggest you prepare her and yourself for it. Get her to a Doctor have the Doctor explain it all. And have everything put in yours or a family members name.
Maybe you have already.
Its going to be a rough road for you. I feel for you and your mother......
The other thing you can do it put a sticky note on the paperwork that says the date you and she discussed it, when it was deposited, and any important notes.
If you're not going to take her to the Dr. and get a Diagnosis and a Treatment Plan in play, this is going to continue to be far more difficult that it needs be. Once she is diagnosed there are support groups for both patients and caregivers. There are coping skills that you can learn to help her retain some of her dignity and not have to feel so confused all of the time.
Whether its Demential or Alzheimers.....there are things that can be done around the home so that she's not so confused. Because what you much consider is to you she's just confused and it can be frustrating for you. But for her it's not just confusion, she's scared and she doesn't understand why this is happening to her and why all of a sudden things are missing. She may be fearful that people are coming in her home. There are a lot of underlying emotions for the person who's going through it, in these situations.
The sooner you get her to the Dr. for a Dianosis and get a Treatment plan in place the better it will be for both of you.
Take care and I hope you both have a peaceful and relaxing weekend.
