I see no purpose most days. I keep busy a lot. I work, go to church. I wondering if I need church. I feel very depressed, and not much purpose. I go to work, it feels good when you come home and it is nice to fend for yourself or I try. The only enjoyment I get is food and drinking coffee and.seltzer and I do it in excess.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

I checked your profile, you are the same age as my niece. I had a conversation with her a few days ago and she mentioned to me that she’s sad most of the time because of pandemic. She can’t go out like she used to. Sometimes she cries by herself and she isolates herself. She’s busy in her online class but not happy even if she finished her projects on time.
I told her to walk outdoors especially when there is sunlight. Sunlight is a natural antidepressant. She has a life group that she attends once a week regularly and it’s helping her to feel less lonely. I also send her messages almost everyday to let her know that she’s not alone.
If you have someone you can trust to share your feelings with, it would be great. Are you involved in the life group at your church? If not yet, I want to encourage you to join, it will help you to feel less lonely. I have a friend in my church, her daughter is also the same with your age. She’s depressed but after joining teen’s life group, her mood has slowly improved.
Continue to share. We are here for you. Praying for you that God will give you peace and strength. Take care.
I am also struggling to find purpose in life. I always did was was expected of me, but have always felt out of tune with the world. There has to be more to my purpose. Maybe part of our purpose is to help each other here? What if you post and it helps someone in some way? What if makes someone here feel less lonely or less of a misfit or it even saves someone's life that day? I'd say that's pretty huge. We need you. <3
I look at my depression the same way. Wellness and recovery is my guiding light; there are stretches where things are good, even great, but eventually I realize that I need to keep working on myself.
