I honestly don't know why they would do that. Hockey, in America at least, never fully recovered from the lockout in the nineties. It really hurt the sport's popularity and a lot of fans just moved on, I don't know why they think it would be better this time around. Idiot rich people not thinking long term are ruining their product. Oh well!
Babs- remember, we're talking about a bunch of rich boys here. . . they may never get their crap together.
Yes Texas, football is ok, but it's just not hockey:( You're right it has and will hurt the sport. I can't believe the nerve of these people (both sides) to argue about money in this economy. Seriously, my dad just lost his job. Whatever!
I know Lance, I'm just sick of being the little guy.
I don't need a multi -million dollar contract, I'll play for free. Who's with me?
SO I'd need one of those huge salaries (payable posthumously to Mrs. Pepper) for me to venture onto the ice.
BTW, who gets to keep the octopus (or do they throw squid) that gets thrown onto the rink?
Hey Pepper- my crazy Romanian friend told me that they eat the octopus!!
I still think we should start our own teams;)
The only good thing that I can see coming out of this, is that minor hockey leagues and juniors games will be frequented more heavily. That's always a boost for the small arenas, and the small local clubs.
