Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
My name is Ashley Nicole, I am 25 years old. I am here for support with my depression. I have struggled with it since the age of 15. I lost my mother to her battle with breast cancer. She was only 40 years old. I lost 3 people that were really close to me within a few months. My grandmother, my aunt and my mother. I have never fully been able to accept that my mother is no long with me. Her 10 year anniversary of her death is on May 1st. Mothers day is a killer.
Recurrently I was diagnosed with stage 3 Endometriosis. Which is how I found daily strength. The odds of having children are stacked against me. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 2 years. The reason I am on here is because I had something hit me so hard this past week. I am usually able to keep my depression under control but something happened that seems to be making me feel empty inside and so alone. My sister told me that she is 9 weeks pregnant. After only a month of being married. I am very happy for her but at the same time I am very angry. I dont know who to talk to, because if I hear one more person tell me Im next or it will happen for you one day or dont lose hope.... I will flip. I dont know how to handle the cards I have been dealt with. I am scarred to become to depressed with having problems of suicide in the past.

I lost my father 10 years ago and know the pain of having Endo. I haven't thought about the children aspect as I am not at that point in my life yet, but my hope and love goes out to you.
I've not been with DS long, but I am finding it to be a really wonderful place to be a part of.

It's me, SharonMom. I am new to this group too, and I wanted to tell you how sorry I am that you lost your Mother at such a young age. Maybe you could join the Motherless Children support group at Daily Strength. I am a member of this group because my Mother died on 3-1-09...I feel for you Ashley, as I, too, am dreading Mother's Day...
As far as the endometriosis goes, I do not know very much about this. I am almost 44 years old, but never had children because I married the love of my life late in life----Almost 5 years ago. I do know that my older sister, in the early 1990's had trouble conceiving a child, so she went on hormone shots and became the Mother of 2 daughters, and a son. Her eldest daughter is going to be graduating from High School next month. That sure makes me, her younger sister feel old! I wish you all the best and will be saying a prayer for you.
