Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
hey guys -
first of all, an apology. i have been so, so busy with the 'business' of DailyStrength that i haven't been able to hang with my peeps in the Depression community. I hope y'all are doing well.
A few quick notes about new things:
"MORE JOURNALS LIKE THIS" - take a look at any journal entry written more than 1 hour ago, and you can now find other journal entries about similar topics. it's a great way to find folks going through exactly what you're going through, and support each other.
BLOGS - you probably already noticed, but our wonderful advisors are now publishing awesome blogs on a daily basis. check em out. some of them are in the middle of the page at the top of the Depression support group.
RECENT ACTIVITY - IT'S BACK! Take a look at the home page once you've logged in....the Recent Activity of your friends has re-emerged...we had to put it away because the site got so darn popular it was making our servers tired...now, it's new and improved.
There's other cool stuff...we put up a store to buy DS t-shirts and stuff, we've got more and better abuse tools, and all that, but honestly, I just wanted to pop in and tell y'all that i hope you're doing well and though I'm not posting, it doesn't mean I ain't busting my butt to keep y'all happy.
On an unrelated note, I'm ALWAYS interested in hearing suggestions of things we can do better, so don't be shy.

I get confused when there are too many people in a chat, and tend to drop out. There are times when a one on one, or a small chat, could be very effective ways to help a friend put the gun down (so to speak).
Yes, I would like to see Kate come back. I understand her banning enough to make me understand it. I just don't get the life time ban.
So thanks for all you guys do. This site has helped me a lot!
I petitioned you last week to take, 'creative' of these ratings, it is causing a lot of hurt.
Personelly I think that open chat outside of 'groups' would be like 'Saving Private Ryan'
total carnage within seconds unless there was somne kind of monitoring process.
That is only my opinion, I am certain many will see the benefits.
Thanks also for making me feel humbled at being an 'outstanding' DS person. You made me cry you rotter!!!
