Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
hey guys -
first of all, an apology. i have been so, so busy with the 'business' of DailyStrength that i haven't been able to hang with my peeps in the Depression community. I hope y'all are doing well.
A few quick notes about new things:
"MORE JOURNALS LIKE THIS" - take a look at any journal entry written more than 1 hour ago, and you can now find other journal entries about similar topics. it's a great way to find folks going through exactly what you're going through, and support each other.
BLOGS - you probably already noticed, but our wonderful advisors are now publishing awesome blogs on a daily basis. check em out. some of them are in the middle of the page at the top of the Depression support group.
RECENT ACTIVITY - IT'S BACK! Take a look at the home page once you've logged in....the Recent Activity of your friends has re-emerged...we had to put it away because the site got so darn popular it was making our servers tired...now, it's new and improved.
There's other cool stuff...we put up a store to buy DS t-shirts and stuff, we've got more and better abuse tools, and all that, but honestly, I just wanted to pop in and tell y'all that i hope you're doing well and though I'm not posting, it doesn't mean I ain't busting my butt to keep y'all happy.
On an unrelated note, I'm ALWAYS interested in hearing suggestions of things we can do better, so don't be shy.

im far from shy :) and have tons of ideas, il remember to message them later, its way to early in the uk at the moment for me to think.
I have never seen her as anything but helpful, straight talking and extremely caring.
It was her idea to help Jloz, she never asked for money from anyone.
I did. Ban me, I am more guilty than Kate.
Please let her back legitimately.

But if this gets an appeal to you about Kate and her innocence in all this money thing, I have to try.
I paid my own money, freely and willingly through paypal to a third party, not Kate, so it reached Jloz fast, other UK (2) people sent me 1. a postal order and 2. a 5 note. These amounts of money were also payed my me through paypal to the third party.
Not much, others sent money directly and Jloz and her child were saved from being homeless by a lot of generous people from all over, especially the USA.
We would never do that again.
We have learned our lesson.
We supported someone we knew to be genuinely in need of support and that was the best way to give it.
Kate isn't a rebel or a trouble maker that I have ever seen.
I care about her deeply.
Aren't rules occassionally broken? Especially when depression is in charge of our emotions?
One more change? Please Doug, see how amazing Kate is here on the boards and helping in the back ground.
I will leave so she can come back, I promise, she can have my place.
Just let us know.
