hey all -

over the last few months, we received repeated requests for more clarity about what sorts of content are OK / not OK on DS.

with much input from all of you, we've created a new "RULES OF THE ROAD" section of the site with much more detail about how DS works, what's OK and not OK, and how we deal with issues.

PLEASE note that this is a "living" document, and we hope to continue updating it as we all (you and we) feel the need to cover more topics.

Yes, the ignore button was GREAT!

I recently came across a DS Member who has their own picture posted as their profile pic, and it triggered me b/c it has a startling resemblance to my Abuser.

I got on, and chose to ignore him, so now, I do not have to worry about seeing 'his face' in the forums.

Thanks DS!

Can't wait until it steps up to the next feature on ignoring members, some people have had issues with some people that they'd like to completely ignore.

#3 isn't enforced nearly enough, and desperately needs to be enforced in the BP forum as well. People do not come here to read verbal abuse, whether directed at them or someone else. Far far to much of that has been going on; I have friends who have given up on posting b/c of it.

Dear Doug, Thanks for all the helpful guidelines.Hey, from Canada. I realize this is a not for profit organization and you are volunteering your time Thank-you. One problem myself and some others have felt about this message board,some sarcastic people make you feel like you are not part of their clique.This is defeating the wholistic purpose of us as a Community feeling able to participate and not be intimidated;especially when we are new to all this, Please, listen to what people are trying to say, be empathetic and don't be so jaded and snarky that you scare people off, that really may need to communicate. I speak for myself and others. Thanks for listening. We are all in this Human Race together. Let's help the "Stragglers", tomorrow you could be the one limping in the race:P

I think the use of profanity like topics on the F word should be outlawed. Remember we still have young people on the DS network and using it in public or in print is totally inappropriate. It should be mentioned in your catagory of common courtesy.

Thanks Doug just read it all. These are good guidelines so if anyone is in doubt, they can get advice from the Rules of the Road. Apprecate all the fab work you and the team are doing for our benefit.
