Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am having a horrible time at my new job. I know that we are all working from home. But being trained to do a job that I've never done before, remotely, is the Hardest. Thing. I. Have. Ever. Done. Not to mention I think I got a job at a place where in a way it's semi-unprofessional and totally chaotic. I think they are trying to train me but its hard to do at a distance, and I feel furious and resentful at how disorganized everyone is because I know my clientele (my students) are impacted and I can't perform my job.
I came back from the restroom and heard our secretary on video call saying, "Mother, F*****". I was totally stunned. She was complaining about our boss to her husband . I nicely said that all zoom calls could be recorded and I know for a fact supervisors can pop into calls unannounced. It really put me off because what is she going to say about me behind my back? Plus just the general shock of it. Maybe I'm too sensitive but that kind of thing can blow up and I don't want to be there when it happens.
She was supposed to meet me today to give me the building key. We open at 8 but she doesn't come until 10...she said she would meet me there today at 10. Ten turned to ten-thirty, then 10:40. I was pretty surprised. Random information just comes at us in emails. We can't decipher it. I know I can't. I kinda feel also like she is short and abrupt. I got confidential documents sent to my personal phone and I asked if they could be sent to my work email because of privacy law. Plus, I can't see them. She reponded, "I said I would on text already!" (I guess I'd asked her on email too...) I don't understand why she waits until AFTER student orientation to send transcripts as the information really isn't useful after the fact. I am supposed to help them enroll in classes and it's pretty much impossible to do without transcripts. That part is my job which is brand new to me.
After I drove back home from getting the key, I had to lay down (it was supposedly my lunch hour that I was told when I was hired). My head was pounding with a migraine and I keep waking up at night (depression)? It was my boss..apparently a parent was at school to meet me... but we never made arrangements.... Apparently the secretary told them to meet me there...? I'd just come from the office. I'm like WTH? We had two more video calls after that and no one showed. The secretary told me she was late to drop off the key becuase we didn't have a meeting until 2 PM so she just put it off...invitations to meetings come ten minutes ahead, she schedules meetings through lunch and sometimes after work. I stay, but the disorganization is something else. I feel at sea and alone in my home, confused, and feeling like WTH about everything. At least I am not constantly exposed to virus. I don't know if we are back in the building yet. I can't believe this.
