Please help. I don't know how to move on or let go. This breakup has completely destroyed me. It's mostly my fault. I was depressed because I became dependent due to lack of finances. I started to feel like nothing I did was good enough. That I wasn't good enough. He stated he felt he wasn't good enough. One day out of nowhere he blew up and physically abused me. He was horrified at his actions as he's never done it before. I stayed with him and tried working it out. Thought things were working out and them bam, A few weeks later he broke up with me out of nowhere saying he can't live with a woman and needed to be left alone and didn't want to be in a relationship anymore. I was shocked and devastated. All of my hopes and dreams are shattered. I cry daily. I have extreme anxiety and depression. I have tried to reach out a few times only to be ignored or told maybe, he has to think about it and then no contact. I just cannot accept that the connection we had that was so strong and so perfect as we both want the same things, had same goals and interests and now it's as if I don't exist. My life is entirely destroyed yet his has gotten better. I helped start a side business which he is doing well in, I helped him get a mortgage on a dream house we were to share, I brought in a kitten that he is now keeping. I don't want to live if this is the life that the universe has thrown at me. I cannot deal with being alone. I am utterly devastated and entirely destroyed. I've lost a lot of weight and don't sleep well. I am on meds and I don't feel like they are helping. I don't know how to "move on" and "just be happy" or "let him go". please help. thank you.

I'm not sure how to help other than to say you're not alone. I went (am going) through a similar situation. You are in a grieving process - you don't need to have expectations of emotionally moving on, and it doesn't help that your life is changing drastically as well as dealing with the end of a relationship. I tried (with a lot of effort) reaching out to friends, going to parks, exercise, reading, journalling. Sometimes it works, sometimes the sadness will catch up, but it is normal. My breakup was in August, and I found myself crying yesterday over it and the changes it brought. If you need someone to talk to, pm me.

Thank you whitt88. I cry daily still and it's been since November. I still reach out to him every 2-3 weeks. I don't have friends close to me and my family doesn't want to hear it anymore. I'm so sad and alone. And it's freezing cold. I keep asking God and the Universe Why? no answer. I feel as if I have no purpose in life and that I will never be good enough for anyone. I have been utterly destroyed. :(

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...
