Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I sorry you are hurting! Seems like you got out of an abusive relationship. Five years of that can take a toll on your mental and emotional health. Have u ever read up on narcisstic abuse, emotional abuse, or codependency?
Just bc you break up or leave a toxic relationship doesn't mean you have healed the wounds from it. You tend to carry it into the next relationship n feel you aren't worthy of anything good or kind. So sometimes we end up self sabotaging good things...bc that was what we were use to with the abusive relationship.
Take some time to seek therapy. Read and learn about the topics i listed above. Your self esteem, self worth, and identity all take a huge blow in an abusive relationship, especially when u see them running off n being kind to someone new.
Just here to you remind you... all relationships have their honeymoon phase. Don't believe everything you see or don't see. But look... it will take some time n work... but u will get to a point where his happiness or unhappiness has no effect on you whatsoever. Try removing him from social media n blocking him so he no longer exists.

You're not alone!
Sending you light n love. It hurts i know. Just take one day at a time.
Focus on self care.
It takes a while to heal from a toxic relationship. It takes time and distance for you to heal enough to be a good fit for someone else. Second.... you are a worthy person and you will be a good partner in a relationship once you heal. So remember your worth. Do not sell yourself short.
I would get a good therapist to talk with and help you deal with the toxic nature and learn to get rid of what you don't need in your life. Focus on healing yourself before trying to concentrate on someone else. You will be in better relationships.
Welcome again to DS.
