Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

You will need to talk to pastors about what the bible says about being saved if you commit suicide. They can guide you in that area.
I am so sorry you feel so very depressed. It is good that you are on medication. Are you seeing a Christian counselor? I will ONLY see a Christian counselor because they understand the way we believe so they can guide us better. They can also work with our pastors if we allow that. But only if we allow that.
Please, tonight read Ephesians 6 starting with the part about putting on the full armor of God. Know you are loved.
I'll be praying for you to get better.
Sending you hugs.
One thing I have learned is that us Christians are just as suseptable to things as anyone else. It doesn't make it easier to live. I think you staying in contact with your doctor and seeing a counselor is still good. And continue to keep the lines of communication open with your husband too. I wish you the best of luck.
I have like 4 of her series on cassette and like 25 single cassettes, I also used to have a bunch of her books and a bunch of video.
She tells it straight up, like it is. I know lots of people think she is full of hooey but I think she's cool.
I know...sorry...I know that's not what this subject was started as but I saw her mentioned and just had to put in my 2 cents about it!
:)
Pick your battles.
If going on a church event with junior high kids triggers you, then avoid them. That is not a battle you need to fight.
Confronting your depression with therapy is a very good battle to fight. The christian aspect of it may entail finding a therapist that can incorporate YOUR beliefs into the therapy.
I would advise against christian therapy where they steer people away from medications. There are cases where meds are vital, and cases where they are not required. It takes unbiased people with the proper medical training to guide people through the process finding the best treatment plan.
I would also say that God has many ways that we can be productive and help our fellow man. Don't let others tell you how you must do this, let God into your heart and find out on your own.
Peace to you
I don't remember where this verse is but it is this "wherever you are, I am also" said by Jesus.
There are no rules with Christianity, that's what makes it hard. There are no rituals or things we have to do. We only need belief and faith.
Your faith is dependent on how much you believe and your need to share this with other people.
Depression dulls emotion but it can't destroy faith.
It doesn't make God love you less.
NOTHING can seperate you from the love of God.
when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, God is with you.
His Bible and His Love will comfort you.
Prayers are always answered, you may not get the answers you want but asking God to work through you is something He will never deny you.
Peace
Niki
i am christian with depression. i have no advice but can only share some of my experiences. i have been lucky to have some very good christian friends who have helped and supported me every step of the way. i have found i need to be honest with them or they cannot help me. i have been surprised at the stories of others that have come out becuse of me going through this crisis.
i dont always do it but just reading the bible and praying regularly helps a lot. ive cried and pleaded with God in prayer to take me home but i am still here but He is by my side. i have a psychiatrist who is a christian too and that i believe has been the most important thing for me because we can pray together. she does not run christian counselling, her practice is secular but i know i can comfortably talk to her about God.
i dont know about the suicide and hell thing. that is one thing that has stayed my hand because i know things will be a lot worse in hell than here. this world might be broken but God is still in it.
best of luck
