Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Hello all, its been a long time since ive been on here. I love this site because it has helped me a lot over the years and made me feel less alone.
Well to start, my depression has been really bad lately and i believe its all circumstantial. Im 21 weeks pregnant right now with a 4 year old who just started pre- k. Shes having some struggles and that gives me a lot of anxiety because I just want her to be okay. We just moved to a better place with 3 rooms. And though it is much better than where we were before, its also much more expesive. Which i thought we could manage until my fiance lost his job the other day. The guy he was working for had promised a certain amount of pay, and he just was severely underpaying him. So for the past few months we have lost a significant amount of money, and that stresses me out to no end constantly. I currently work in the school system as a parapro for a special ed class, which i love, but it does not pay well at all. I need the insurance though, and i cant leave right now. It just seems like one thing keeps happening after the other. Im trying to figure put other ways to make income, but nothing really seems to work. everything is so expensive and it just really is hard right now. I hope things get better soon, especially with my little one on the way. I thought we had everything planned out and it was going to be smooth, but wit the loss of his job, things are now more stressful than ever. I feel like i have tried very hard to do things right and always try to do the bes thing for my family. But right now i feel like im failing and the future really scares me.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Look into food banks near you. There are some churches doing Saturday food pick ups or Sundays. And the food banks are often open on the weekend. So many working folks are needing food help now. Don't feel like you should not try this avenue. I have friends going to food banks now and there is no shame. If you qualify, you might try WIC in the USA in your pregnancy and after giving birth for food/nutritional help. You can google all this with your zip code and find local help.
Again, I am sorry you are having this stress. You aren't failing, the government in the USA and other governments world wide have created inflation due to overly spending. If they run the econcomic departments correctly, they can course correct and get this inflation stuff down. Some just say there is no inflation but we all know there is. Everything has skyrocketed in costs. Just hang in there. Rest and take care of your baby and get food help.
It sounds like you need to take care of yourself as paradoxical as that may sound. You're pregnant, working, have a young daughter who is feeling some of the stress and your fiancé just lost his job!
There are some great suggestions and comments above. There are a million suggestions that could be made and questions that could be asked. I have a feeling that things will work out for you if that counts for anything. You are not failing. Keep coming back to update us. I am not on that often, but feel free to send me a message or friend request. You are doing so much to help yourself and your family.
Can your fiancé sign up with a temp agency while he's looking for another position?
He could take any position to help with bills while still looking for what he wants? and that would help cover the bills
I agree that food banks can really help in the meantime
Sending another big hug of peace and calm while you work through this difficult time....xo
I very sorry all this is happening all at once.
You're not failing, even if it does feel like it sometimes. You're not failing. It's just a tough time. Everything is crazy expensive. There are a lot of great suggestions in comments above. Also maybe try reaching out to local churches or community support services like aspire ministries or love inc. (there are a ton of them out there nation wide) They might be able to help you with things like rent and utilities ECT.
You're main job right now is simply to take care of yourself your baby and little girl.
Prayers your husband finds a new job quickly and even a better one that will take some more of the weight off of you .
Sending hugs.
I'm sure things will get better.
