Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
So, I figured this:
"you are your own best friend and will live with you all your life so be kind and good and loving to you."
You don't have to agree with their standards or their thoughts. If they reject you, they don't really know the deeply caring and kind person you are. But you do. You know you better than anyone else. So you don't have to agree or recieve their wrong opinions of you. You can choose your own opinions of you no matter what anyone else thinks of you and no matter how they treat you. You can choose to have a good opinion of yourself. And if you don't like yourself--then think of 1 thing you can do well. Think of one thing you do like about you. And focus on those.
Our kids think the world of us when they are small--they think we are SuperWoman. So absorb that good thinking and feeling from them and enjoy even the smallest wonder in the day--like a flower growing through the hard cement in a sidewalk. There is so much good and positive in this world. Start seeking out the good and positive and you will start seeing more good and positive.
It is who you are on the inside that matters most. It is your responsibility as a parent to a young child that desperately needs and loves you that matters most-- even if the child is unruly. I had four so I know.
Find one thing you can be thankful for and say it outloud. Then find another. And say it outloud too. It may be hiding but it is there.
You can make it through this difficult time in your life. It will not always be like this. As my Mom always says,
"This too shall pass."
Hold fast. Things will change. Things will get better. It will be worth going through this rainstorm because the clouds don't stay forever. The sun is always shinig behind those clouds. And you will see and have sunshine again. Guarenteed.
We could have the most wonderful relationship with a spouse, friend, family member, or group of friends, and they will all some day pass away--so no matter if we have all that or not, we can still be alone at times in our lives. It would be nice to have all those relationships but if we are content no matter what our relationships are or are not, content if we are alone or not, then we will be able to enjoy life more no matter what happens to us or happens with the people around us. It isn't our relationships that make us who we are. We could be living all alone on some mountain deep in Alaska without another soul around for miles and still be happy. Gratitude attitude makes all the difference.
Two basic needs of mankind:
To love
And
To Be loved.
If you aren't getting one of these fulfilled (to be loved) it doesn't stop you from still loving others.
We get to chose to make our lives bitter or make our lives better. We get to either have the difficulties in our lives be stumbling blocks or make them into stepping stones.
Nobody gets stronger unless they lift weights. And that takes effort and work. Lifting heavy weights can be uncomfortable. Same emotionally. We get stronger emotionally by lifting emotional weights and by making lemonade out of the lemons in our lives. That lemonade can actual refresh others. We are all in this world togther and need each other. We need you. You are important and you also have something to contribute. We can all support one another here on DS even unseen!! Hang in there. You are going yo make it through this time!!
Girlfriend, drinks? Man, that reminds me of about three 'friends' from my past. They get bitchy because their marriages are horrible, and the go over to the dark side.
As to being fat? some guys totally go for fatties. More cushion for the pushin as a mate of mine says, whose wife is very rolly polly. He seriously likes it. My daughter is very large and her boyfriend thinks she's the bee's knees. I've recently met up with someone who has no problem with my podge. Some guys care, some guys don't.
but I tell you who DO care. OMG they care. Those bitchy resentful, bitter, borderline alcoholic, angry, moody, evil, skinny, well-dressed women. They wonder why their husbands never come home when they work so hard to look good - it's cos they're rotten like a rotten apple.
honestly you just have to learn to say 'she's gone to the dark side' and mentally wipe her as a friend. As to real friends? They start to show up when the bitch friends are gone. You're guilty by association. Nice people will actually avoid sitting with you, because they'll be avoiding this woman.
you will get good friends by getting rid of bad ones. it's a thing. A genuine thing. The universe works this way.
So chin up. It's always darkest before the dawn. Better times ahead I think now that you've offloaded caustic horror woman.
