I call my mom every day and today she brought up Josh's (my son's) negative attitude and how she wants to work with him on it. And so of course I feel myself slipping down in to the spiraling cesspool that says , "THis is my fault!" He's this way because of my depressiion. How can he not be negative about his life with everything he faces every day? He struggles in school no matter how hard he tries. He has Aspergers and ADHD so that makes life harder for him as well. And then he sees me struggling every day and often not able to get much done or I just end up sleeping for several hours during the day since I get so tired. Itry so hard to be the best mom I can be but the truth is i am very limited and always battling this illness every day. I feel so guilty for all the things I don't get done like cooking for Josh and his dad (my husband). Every now and then Imake fettuccini alfredo with chicken but that's about it. We are always eating out. Usually when I come to the depression group I am trying to help others but I am the one who needs help on most days!

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
that's a lot of pressure and stress, which makes anyone angry. If he could be tutored, by professionals, it could make things much easier for him.
Putting something in the crock pot just takes a minute or two, maybe your husband could clean up.
Also, since good nutrition helps with the conditions you mentioned, wanted to share a snack idea with Omega 3s (chia seeds/walnuts)
Fage yogurt, honey and chia seeds - a super food - very tiny and crunchy -- it's really good. Or add fruit and walnuts, instead of chia seeds.
Hope you can accept that you don't feel like cooking everyday and not make yourself feel guilty.
As far as meals I try to cook at home even tho at times we eat out more. But most meals I make don't take long and are healthy. I am busy so fast prep is needed it's a matter of time to search for recipes. Just wanted to throw the idea at you. Crock pots are awesome too.
I am sorry you guys are struggling:(
My son suffers from depression as well and every day I beat myself up because I feel it is my fault, like I passed it on to him.
I try hard to help him through it but I struggle myself and I don't always handle it the same way.
It is clear that you love your son very much, that is what a good
mother does, she loves her children.
Your willingness to come here and help others well that is what a good mother does also.
Some days are better than others. Some days I am really down on myself, blaming msyelf for everything; and other days I seem to have more perspective on things.
Again thank you all for your support----it really helped.
I would probably help. For now, though, things are better.
thank you! hugs
Have him focus on math and science in the 11th and 12th grade, taking as many math and science-related courses for electives as possible. I'd say the kid's going to MIT if he wants!
