The good news is that his fever is down. Also Josh is clearly stronger than I am, which gives me strength. He didnt' cry at all when he heard the news. In fact his first reactions were "Praise the Lord" and and "Easily treatable= good as gone". I am so proud of him. He really is and always has been my strength and my hope.

I'm so sorry the results came back as cancer, but so thankful it's very treatable. You and Tom will learn how to take care of the tracheomety. I know you will. You're all in my prayers and please keep us posted and come here for support . I know this has to be overwhelming right now and know that if you need to talk, I'm a pm away..... okay?

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear the diagnosis, but pleased to know that it's easily treatable. Warms hugs to you and Josh. So glad to hear he has an upbeat attitude!

I just hve to share something positive about Josh's day today. He sat up by himself without help and also his fever came back down. Also I asked him if he was scared and he said "no".

Josh is just now going in to surgery. He is having a chemo port implanted in his chest, a spinal tap, a bone marrow test, and an ng feeding tube inserted in his nose that goes down to the stomach.

Thanks LMT and everyone. He had his second surgery today and the cancer is also in the bone marrow but they say this is not unusual and is also very treatable. Tom and I took a break today and came back home (if you call driving another three hours a break plus another hour for a flat tire). I really needed to get away from the hospital for a little while after being there for five days straight. My diet has completely gone to hell but Tom says not to worry about that right now. They are talking about trying an experimental drug on Josh that we have to make a decision about. This is a very tough decisiion as one of the possible side effects is death.
