Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I have been told not to fear my emotions but its hard when this mood normally leads to something horrid.
Remember, the more you talk about things the easier it gets. Post about it every day if it helps, and if I run out of things to say in response, I'll just keep telling you how awesome you are :P
This is a rough patch... your family doesn't deserve these things. But they add up, which makes it easy to overlook the good things.
Hugs :)
I know I dont like feeling helpless and I know I compound that problem by being a wreck, so missing out on providing the emotional support that others need. Altruism has been helping. I sent a perfect stranger something I had for free because he asked for it on another forum I use. It made me feel good.
I worry about my Nan. She cared for my Grandad for 14 years, that sudden break from it must be quite jarring for her and I worry she is lonely during the day. I also worry about her health. She was living to look after him, without him there, I worry she will lose the drive to live and weaken suddenly.
All these things go round in my head and I cannot stop it. Distraction works but it only lasts so long.
We went to see my Nan this morning. She asked me if I wanted anything of my Grandads, I only want his Harris Tweed flatcap. She told me to go and get it but I couldn't go in his room. It made me collapse and I cried so hard on the way home. I dont think she has been in his room since they took his body away, it's all closed up, curtain, windows , everything. She said she was going to sort through his stuff.
It is just all too much
