Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
ive never gone to a doctor and been diagnosed with depression, but I feel as if it's something I've been struggling with for some time now. Today I was on the verge of killing myself and my boyfriend wouldn't even answer my calls, even though he knew I was about to do it. He told me he was busy, when in reality I found out he was drinking with one of his friends. He told me to stop calling him and to leave him alone, when all I was doing was asking if I could talk to him because I was in a really bad place. After he kept ignoring my calls and texts, he blocked me. I've heard little from him since. I've never felt so depressed in my life. I don't feel as if anyone cares about me or would even miss me if I was gone. I talked to a hotline today which helped a little, and the lady offered this support group. I just don't know how to feel about my boyfriend not caring that I wanted to kill myself. Can anyone offer some advice?
Update: He cheated on me 2 days ago, had nothing to say about it, and probably doesn’t even feel bad. Guess things happen for a reason.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

I'm sorry for being so blunt but your generation has been told a pack of lies about what people owe you or will give you. It's very important to understand that they owe you absolutely nothing, and will only give you what you inspire in them. Which is to say if you make them want to leave they will leave. If you make them want to stay they will stay. They have free will with how they live their lives.
I think it's important for you now to say 'what do I want out of life for myself?'
What future do you want.
What career?
What are you interested in for your own sake? What do you like doing?
Turn your mind to the bright future you dream of. Dream of the bright future you want to have. Walk towards the beautiful chances, and you will stop noticing the bad state of the road you travel to get there.
the road you travel to get there is immaterial. Your destination is the important thing.
So let go of the ex boyfriend. men come and men go. there's always more where they came from. But your you-ness will always remain constant. So take care of it.
