I'm really confused about what to do.  I'm a teacher and opt to get paid throughout the summertime, and have money put into the summer bank so that I will be paid through the summer.  For the past 18 years, my paycheck has been the same throughout the entire year because the money is evenly distributed.

I am working for a new company.  Much to my surprise, my summer paycheck is much, much smaller and now I am very behind and won't be able to make all of my bills.  I have emailed payroll and human resources, and called them as well.  I am being ghosted.  I hear through the grapevine that it's not a mistake and that this is what it is supposed to be.  This does not seem right at all because my salary has not changed hardly at all in the past few years.  I got a hold of a couple of other teachers and they said the same thing, that their paycheck is very short and they were surprised too.  One of the supervisors said that there is a good reason for it. What I can't understand is why human resources and payroll are not answering me, I think it's very unprofessional.  And I am way overdrawn and can't get the bills paid.

This is a serious problem.  I called the local Education Assosciation and the local wage and hour division.  I am not sure how to handle this without having a rupture in relations.  But something just doesn't seem right-there were issues with payroll earlier this year where we almost didn't get a paycheck because payroll made some kind of error.  If my salary isn't different, then why are my paychecks so much smaller?
