The only reason my parents are still together is because of us kids, and it gets really stressful on all three of us because we are constantly surrounded by all this negatively. 


They think it's better for us to have two parents, but honestly it's the worst thing to see two people we really care for miserable all the time. I don't know what to do and often this really puts my sister and I down.

I’m really sorry you are going through this. How long have your parents been miserable, that you can tell?
Reason I ask is my wife and I are starting the process of divorce. Our kids are 9&5. I tried so hard the last three years to keep out marriage together not just for the kids but because I love her!!
It has finally gotten to the point where because of certain actions I can’t continue.
We tried separation earlier this year and thought the kids adjusted ok but then she moved back in. Just to tell me it’s not working 4 months later. I feel terrible for our kids but am hoping that in the long run they will be thankful that we decided to finally do this.

As long as I can remember they've never really seemed "in love", and this is my mom's third marriage and my dad's second. Sometimes I wonder if there really is a such thing as love.

I'm sorry you are going through this. Even having been through trials, I definitely believe in love. Have you told your parents how you feel? I have to give them credit for wanting to stick it out for you but living in negativity isn't a plan either. Have they tried marriage counseling, do you know? Maybe even family counseling could be a consideration. Divorce can be pretty difficult on kids but so can living in turmoil. Wishing you the best.

May I ask the age of your sister? I just read SOME of the things in your profile. It seems to me the 'family' problem could be your Mother (just from reading a few notes). Depending on your Sister's position, it may be ... MAY be good to encourage your parents to separate/divorce .... and personally .... I think you may be better off with your Father. Just keep in mind the welfare of you AND your sister.

My sister is 14. I really don't know what to do... my mom is always going on about how she made a promise to God when she married my father that she wasn't going to have any more divorces (she's super religious) but you can plainly see how much she hates it here. She's got this really manipulative way of making you want to pick her though, I really don't want to imagine what would happen if my siblings and I went with my dad. Plus I'd have to quit dance...

I am sorry. i know how hard it is growing up in a family whwere there i no love. i did, and it made it difficult for me to understannd what love really was... i love my husband. however, if it ever got to a point where i didnt love my husband we would seperate .. it would be better for my son to grow up in different loving homes, rather than one toxic one.
