Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I grabbed a composition notebook (journal) and started writing 30 ways to cope. I plan on making this a private journal with my innermost thoughts and feelings like depressoin, cutting, if i want to harm, my triggers, my offsets, and other stuff. Do you think this is a good idea? Should I add anything other than thoughts to this (in your own opinion)?
Also my parents are starting to be snoopy and wayyyy more overprotective since they figured out I've been harming and been extremely depressed and lost all hope so is there a way that I can keep *or hide* this to myself and not let them see it? Or if they do then what should I do?
Please comment your thoughts and opinions! <3

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. If I come to DS and it won't do anything when I click "Login", I go to a post, click and then click "Leave a Reply". Then it will let me log in.Of course, sometimes DS just goes to "Error 504". Then I can't log in.

Also I know the feeling of snoopy parents - they have my every online activity monitored and search my room every couple days - just find ways to have a private life I guess
I journal gratitude everyday 5 things
I call my journal my dream book.
I write about my strengths, weaknesses, symptoms etc of challenges, not self-pity, simply to 'see where I was" and where I am today...progress towards finding and living a happy balanced life. I write about goals, daily, weekly, monthly, year, and 5year plan...this again helps to keep me motivated, living a purposeful life, and reduces my frustration, anxiety and depression.
I think, as a parent myself, they feel concern and love for you...maybe fear your depression may lead to further problems. I have a son about your age I think, under 20, privacy is being respectful of you and your boundaries...as a young adult, I'd listen to my son, Ok I get it...you don't want me in your room...that's fine...follow the rules of the house...no food in your room, then I won't have reason to go in to your room...do you give your parents 'a reason' to go into your room? If you journal on the 'positive' there might be less stress on your part if they saw your journal. If you are here on ds, as a member you have to sign in with a pass word. There is a "private" journal that you can keep your private info written into, and not even share on line here...two options for your journal friends/private. Best to you, ml
