Where was God on Sept. 11th
I have a very dear friend who questioned my faith in God on the day the terrorists attacked America. Her question was simply put, "Where was God today?"
She was very hurt, as all Americans were. And at the time, all I could do was react in bewilderment. But since that moment, I have prayed and grieved over those disastrous events. Prayed and grieved like the entire county and most of the world has. And thankfully after much prayer, I believe that God has enabled me to become aware of the answer to that question.
Because now I know where my God was on the morning of September 11, 2001. He was very, very busy on that horrible morning. First of all, he was putting up obstacles in order to discourage a great many people from taking those deadly flights. Because those four flights together would have held over 1000 passengers; but yet there was only 266 aboard. Imagine for a moment had you been one of the many people who wanted to take one of those doomed flights, but for one reason or another were not on board.
As the morning progressed our awesome God was on those 4 commercial flights giving terrified passengers the ability to stay calm. Not one of the family members who was called by a loved one on any of the high-jacked planes, said that any passengers were screaming or were out of control. God was busy giving those passengers the strength to endure those terrible last minutes. Almighty God was busy instilling into each and every one of those passengers the knowledge that he was waiting for them. That soon, they were to be in his waiting arms, and that they were not to worry.
He was also busy trying to create obstacles for the employees at the World Trade Center. Only around 20,000 were in the towers when the first jet hit. Since the buildings hold over 50,000 workers, this was a miracle from God himself. Think of the many people who were employed at the WTC who told the media that they were late for work because of one reason or another like traffic delays, or that they had to take their children to school and were running late. Think of all the thousands of people who made it safely down floor after floor after floor. Think of the tens of thousands of visitors that daily enter those buildings not only to visit, but also to conduct business, to shop, or to just commute. God showing his extraordinary love kept most of them away or delayed them just enough on that fateful morning.
Our God was also busy holding up two 110-story buildings, so that just about all the workers could get out. The two planes came in from different directions. One from the north and one from the south. This is thought to have been done so that one of the buildings would topple over and knock the other building down. God prevented that from happening and thus prevented many surrounding buildings and their inhabitants from being crushed under the weight of the falling towers.
Only an act of God could have prevented the tops of those towers from being ripped off when the jets impacted, and only God could have prevented the debris from being hurled down on to the adjoining buildings, and down on top of the pedestrians in the streets below.
God was also very busy with one other thing on that day in September. He was extremely busy feeling the hurt and the pain that each and every one of those people that were involved in that horrible and evil tragedy was feeling. God was living all the horror, feeling all the pain, experiencing all the terror that each person was experiencing. As they hurt, God hurt. Their fear and discomfort was God's fear and discomfort. Think of it. The Creator of the universe was experiencing, at the exact same time, all the pain and suffering that each person was feeling. I know beyond a doubt that God felt all this pain and suffering,

Peace out!
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for forgiving me for all my sins.
Amen, Jazzie xx
the only thing that is certian in life is death.
People totally ignore that God exists and is their ceator, but then when something bad happens they can't understand why God didn't prevent it.
Mankind has chosen to ignore God and to deny his existence and has been doing so for thousands of years.
The story of Adam and Eve in the garden illustrates that, even when living in a care-free utopia provided by God, man will still use his free will to disobey God and try to become his own God.
This is a problem because the last thing God needs in this world filled with evil and greed is more beings running around on earth (like the fallen angels/demons under Satan's command) but with eternal life. This is what Adam and Eve and mankind were denied, because they showed that, if given eternal life they would deny God and serve themselves.
So, man chose to deny God and still does. God did give man free will to do what he chooses- and mankind is doing so.
So now God is not automatically there for everyone in the world, because the majority of the world does not want anything to do with God and so God gives them their desire because he is a polite gentleman. And he created them with their free-will.
If you want to connect to God now it is on a one by-one basis, by accepting his son, Jesus, who came to earth to live a perfect life and die the worst death possible and rise again on the third day to PROVE to the world that God IS God.
Jesus paid the debt for all of our sins and now we can have direct access and interaction with a personal God (this is not religion- Jesus hates religion!).
IF you CHOOSE God he is VERY active in your life, directing where you go and what you get to do (including numerous blessings)! I promise!
BUT the unbelieving world, which has been becoming drastically more and more unbelieving over the last 50 years is getting what it has chosen with it's God-given free will. No God, just how they like it.
The Bible is very clear that the prince of this world is NOT God, the prince of this world is Satan and it is under his power. Look how messed up the world is because of evil and greed. Look how those in the richest countries spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on stupid material things that they make to be their gods and idols- while millions don't even have food in the world- and they drive around in their stupid BMWs and Cadillac Escalades.
If you want God, he's waiting, but you have to acknowledge that Jesus did pay your debt for the times you've messed up in your life (no human is perfect- none).
God's involvement in the world is exactly the involvement mankind has asked him for.
If you know the book of revelation and you know history and current events you that that we have been in the last days since the time of WWI and that everything has been building to a climax, especially in recent years, Biblically speaking.
If you know the Bible then you know that every country that was founded on the God of the Bible and then turned away from him (like the Jews of 721BC and the U.S. now) has had God's PROTECTION withdrawn.
Imagine that you are God watching this: the U.S. was founded by Christians escaping persecution in Europe wanting to freely worship God (research history) and this country RELIED on God and his provision and believed him to be who he is.
Look at this country now in comparison. If you were God wouldn't you withdraw from a country that hated you too?
This is no longer a Christian country as it used to be in the 50s and 60s, for example.
It is one on one now.
Where was God on 9/11?
Right where we asked him to be, as a nation.
I encourage you to read all the stories of 9/11 survivors who were in the towers and cried out to God and were saved, one-on-one.
Matthew
But, the part that says, " Only an act of God could have prevented the tops of those towers from being ripped off when the jets impacted", is not factual because the WTC was designed to take the impact of a 707.
In fact, the WTC was the strongest building there could ever be- on its outside wall. It had a very unconventional design where the outside wall was extremely strong, but the internals were very weak, to allow floor plans without columns.
The strong outer wall kept the building up, but the rest of the design brought it down, due to the fire and insufficient fire-proofing of trusses under the cement slab floors.
No steel skscraper had ever come down because of fire EVER until this.
I'm not directing this post towards anyone, but I want the athiests to understand that we don't need to deny scientific fact in order to believe that our God is working in our lives. Because we see his presence every day of our lives.
If we were all imagining God and this was a man-made religion with no connection to God we would all fall away in the hard times, but we haven't left the faith in the hard times because we see his supernatural presence in our lives constantly.
This is not an exercise of logic or deduction or a knee-jerk reaction to being afraid of death.
Think about this: If you were one of the 11 disciples of Jesus who were crucified or beheaded for your testimony of Jesus Christ... if you had made up the story wouldn't you have said, " Wait wait! I take it all back- it's all a lie, don't kill me"?!
Why did 11 men die for their testimoney if they made it up?
You say that people have always been dieing for lies? Yes, but they all believed that it was truth!
If the disciples made-up Jesus they would have known it was not true and would not have willingly been killed for their testimoney.
Interesting?
