Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
1) Contact DS admin ASAP using the feedback form. Tell them what happened, and ask them to change your user name. PICK A NEW USER NAME THAT IS NOT RELATED TO YOU IN REAL LIFE! If you are known amongst your friends (and your ex) as {insert something here} then do NOT use that or something similar as your user name.
2) You have set your profile to private, continue to do so. You can also set various things about you to private, such as your journals, pictures, etc.
3) Refrain from posts that include information about you that can connect you to your real life person. For example, I am known here as Bob from Los Angeles. There are thousands of us, so that is not very much of a threat. But having a less common name and being from a smaller city can totally tip you off.
4) Pictures are becoming more searchable, so consider your pictures, and remove ones that can pinpoint you.
5) Be careful of what you post. Small details may not break you, but they can add up.
6) If you believe that your ex has crossed the line from following you to stalking you consult the police, or perhaps a lawyer. You have rights, but none of us here are qualified to tell you what they are. (For starters your rights vary from country to country and state to state)
Gentle hugs
