I know this isnt as horrific as other things going on but thought I would share.
My fiance that I have lived with for 5 1/2 years and I have a large fishpond... I have been taking care of these fish for all this time.. I had 100 or so some being over 5 inches long from head to tail.. This pond is a bitch to clean. The first of the month we took the whole day and drained it and put the fish in a big container, one by one and cleaned it all out.
Some how we got a hole in the tarp and half the water drained out.. Then it froze over... We put the water heater in the other day and it was not soon enough especially with half the water gone. Now, almost all of my fish have floated to the top and are dead.. We have been fishing (no pun intended) out for days.. I have protected these guys and loved them as if they were any other pet for over five years.. I can only see two of them alive..
I am very very sad.. I justed wanted to share.. I have protected these guys from snakes, yes snakes, racoons, birds and my fiesty cats, just to kill them on my own... enuf said.. Thanks for listening.. Y'Vonne

I once had 3 baby Oscars. When I worked at the pet-shop a customer came in with a shovel nose catfish that had smashed through his tank so I agreed to take it. When I woke up the next morning I only had one Oscar. Its my fault for introducing a predator into a tank of juveniles but its one of those things.
That Oscar grew large and healthy enough to make me 50 when I sold him.

I am very impressed that this is your first major mishap in 5 years. You've taken darn good care of that pond! I hope when I start mine, I have as good a track record as you!
