I've been dealing with this thing since I was 15 years old and I am now 32 years old. It gets tiring when it comes back with a vengeance like it's been gone so long that it has to come back full force.
I've been so overwhelmed by a lot of things that I feel myself slipping into that hole. These are some of the reasons I have for going back there:
My husband has changed and I have this gut feeling something is going on behind my back. I don't know if this is ok but he slept with my best friend some years back and that ex-friend was around a couple days ago and he acted weird and didn't want to be around me. Later on he tried to have sex with me.
I have dealt with this for so long that I am getting sick of it. Since I had both of our daughters I have gained some weight and I know that that has a lot to do with him treating me the way he does. I try and try to lose the weight but I do not get any help watching our girls so it's hard to juggle this and that plus a full time job on top of all that.
I love him so much but I guess I am not the one that he really wants. I've thought that for some time and even said it but he swears that he wants me and only me. But then why don't you show me that you actually want to be with me? Why not act like you love and cherish me? Everything changed between us the moment we got married. But I have been considering a separation and a divorce to follow. I'm tired of getting treated like I'm nothing.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

As for housework, that needs to be a dialog. So many couples have different definitions of what things like "clean enough" mean.
And I totally agree with the concept that if a person cheats on their spouse and they agree to work on the marriage, the person that was cheated with needs to be cut out of both relationships. I just don't know the right words to say this without destroying the effort. But getting him to clarify what he means by "he is working on the marriage" is a GREAT start!
I totally think I should just lose the weight again like I did before and leave just like I did before.
I'm probably better off by myself so I could be without him or his mother.
I think a lot of relationship stuff comes down to someone saying no all the time. That's the one who controls the relationship. The one who is being said no to eventually gives up and becomes hurt and resentful.
I saw a really good youtube on it the other day.
You know him better than anyone. If he does not work the work that is needed to strengthen the marriage and your trust in him then, you will have to decide what other options you wish to pursue.
